Imagine walking through a mystical garden. There are seven distinct terraces, each one a level of complexity in your journey. On the first terrace, you plant the seeds of self-discovery.
As you ascend, the terraces represent the progression through the levels, akin to the Enneagram’s seven points. Each terrace holds unique challenges and revelations, much like the different Enneagram types. Your path leads you to the heart of the garden, the eighth point, a place of integration and transformation.
Guided Exercise – Flowing Octaves
Find a comfortable, quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, your arms relaxed at your sides.
- Start by taking a few deep breaths to center yourself. Inhale slowly through your nose, feeling your abdomen expand, and exhale gently through your mouth, releasing tension.
- Imagine a melody, like a gentle stream of water flowing over rocks. As you breathe in, raise your arms, and as you breathe out, lower them. Allow your body to sway and flow with the rhythm of your breath.
- Extend your arms outward as if embracing the world. Feel the cycles of expansion and contraction within your body, like the notes of a song. Sense the continuity of these octaves in your own breath, the universal rhythm of life.
- For a few moments, stand in stillness, acknowledging the harmonious flow of octaves within you. As you open your eyes, recognize the ever-revolving cycles of life and your place within them.
